Senior Engineer (Mining)

Location: Haile Gold Mine, South Carolina, USA; onsite work in both office and operational mining environments

What you will do

• Oversee and support technical services planning for short- and long-range pit designs and drill and blast patterns.
• Lead the production of daily, weekly, and rolling three-month mine and dump plans.
• Maintain the design database and standardize design areas and signoff processes.
• Collaborate with mine operations to meet monthly production requirements and critical path targets.
• Improve mining software usage and evaluate technical solutions for production planning.
• Mentor engineers, support professional development, and contribute to succession planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 5 years of mining experience; 8+ years preferred.
• At least 5 years of open-pit gold mining experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, time management, prioritization, and technical communication abilities.
• Ability to regularly access active mining and processing areas, conduct site visits and investigations, and work on uneven terrain and elevated areas.
• Ability to use mandatory personal protective equipment and work safely in operational environments.
