Senior Mining Engineer (Autonomous Systems)

Location: Tucson, Arizona, USA 85706; onsite position. Travel required up to 25%.

What you will do

• Support deployment, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of autonomous mining and haulage technologies.
• Analyze fleet utilization, productivity, cycle performance, loading processes, KPIs, and system-performance data using operational data, simulation, and mining-engineering principles.
• Lead or support site-readiness assessments, feasibility studies, operational modelling, field evaluations, configuration, testing, commissioning, and operational validation.
• Provide technical guidance to customers, hirify.global organizations, distributors, internal stakeholders, OEM teams, and technology partners.
• Develop operational documentation, training materials, recommended practices, workflows, and user resources.
• Provide mining-engineering input to commercial proposals, productivity modelling, feasibility analysis, and Total Cost of Ownership evaluations.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in surface mining operations, mine planning, mining technology, or a related environment.
• Experience applying mining-engineering principles to operational performance, mine planning, fleet productivity, or similar operational challenges.
• Experience with autonomous, teleoperated, fleet-management, or other mining technology systems.
• Ability to analyze operational information and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communication of complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams in a global, technically complex environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred; equivalent relevant experience in surface mining operations, mine planning, autonomous mining systems, or a closely related field may be considered instead.

Nice to have

• Experience with autonomous haulage systems or related autonomous mining technologies.
• Proficiency with HAULSIM, Deswik, Mine Twin, or comparable mining simulation or planning platforms.
• Experience with Power BI, advanced Excel, fleet-management platforms, control systems, system integration, or operational technology.
• Knowledge of Modular Mining or related hirify.global mining-technology products.
• Experience with site-readiness assessments, operational modelling, commissioning, performance-improvement engagements, commercial proposals, or Total Cost of Ownership analysis.
• Additional language capabilities relevant to hirify.global's global customer base.
