Software Engineering Manager - Flex

What you will do

• Lead a team of approximately 7–8 engineers through hiring, coaching, career development and regular 1:1s.
• Drive sprint planning, backlog prioritisation and predictable delivery in partnership with Product.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, system design, engineering quality, testing and code review.
• Partner with Product, UX, Data, SRE and senior engineering leaders to define solutions and coordinate releases.
• Strengthen operational excellence through on-call readiness, incident reviews, runbooks, monitoring, alerting and SLIs/SLOs.
• Shape the future team model as the Flex and DSR organisations integrate, while removing friction and improving engineering processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing engineers, including hiring, coaching and team development.
• Experience delivering production microservices or cloud-native applications using public cloud, preferably AWS.
• Practical knowledge of automated pipelines, infrastructure as code and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with test strategy, automated testing, code quality, monitoring, logging and incident management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Product, Design, SRE and senior leadership.
• Strong coding experience in at least one modern language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go or C#, plus familiarity with system design and architecture patterns.
