Auxiliary Operator

Location: Hillsborough Facility, Florida, United States; onsite role with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts.

Salary: $28.85–$38.41 per hour

What you will do

• Operate and inspect boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and other power plant equipment.
• Monitor pumps, motors, fans, dampers, compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators, and electrical devices.
• Read meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify operational trends and potential disruptions.
• Perform material sampling, chemistry testing, and water treatment as required.
• Safely operate cranes, skid steers, loaders, forklifts, and other heavy industrial mobile equipment.
• Maintain correct refuse-fuel levels and refuse mixtures in designated operating areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Boiler operator experience, including minor maintenance of pumps and valves.
• At least 2 years of experience operating heavy industrial equipment such as front-end loaders or skid steers.
• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test and qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days and nights.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb, lift or carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and work in varying weather conditions.
