Boiler Operator (Food Ingredients)

What you will do

• Operate and monitor high-pressure steam boilers and associated utility systems.
• Start up, shut down, adjust, and routinely operate pumps, cooling towers, air compressors, water softeners, and related equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance through computerized systems and operational controls.
• Analyze water quality and chemical balances while supporting water treatment and regulatory compliance.
• Identify equipment issues, generate maintenance notifications, and maintain operational logs, meter readings, and inspection records.
• Support emergency response for fuel, water, air, and steam systems while following food safety, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class 1 Operating Steam Engineer License issued by the State of Tennessee.
• At least 3 years of experience operating high-pressure boilers and industrial utility systems.
• Knowledge of boiler operations, water treatment, fuel systems, and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret meters, gauges, operating charts, and technical documentation and maintain equipment records.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and support 24/7 manufacturing operations.

• Experience in food, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing.
• Experience with computerized utility monitoring systems and process controls.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and continuous improvement practices.
