Yard Technician I -1st Shift

Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota, United States; onsite, first shift

Salary: $20–$28.34 per hour

McNeilus, an Oshkosh company, designs and manufactures refuse truck bodies and equipment for waste collection fleets.

What you will do

• Operate and repair wheel loaders, skid loaders, lawn mowers, facility vehicles, and other yard equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hydraulic, mechanical, and small-engine components.
• Complete preventive maintenance, work orders, equipment data entry, and repair status reporting.
• Transport tools, parts, supplies, and equipment safely around and outside the facility.
• Operate cranes and hoists, use hand and power tools, and assist with heavy lifting.
• Maintain clean and safe shop and yard areas, work in all weather conditions, and provide emergency or snow-removal support when on call.

Requirements

• At least six months of applicable experience.
• Forklift certification and knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• CDL or willingness to obtain and maintain one within six months of hire.
• Ability to climb a ladder to at least one-story height and lift light or heavy parts.
• Ability to work required hours and overtime, follow written and verbal instructions, and maintain excellent attendance.

Nice to have

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology or an equivalent degree.
• Class B CDL.
• CNG certification.
