OSP Designer (HFC/Fiber)

Location: Biloxi, Mississippi, with remote work available for candidates in AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, or UT.

What you will do

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions, major plant upgrades, undesigns, and redesigns.
• Prepare base drafts and detailed engineering drawings using CAD, GIS, and spatial software.
• Read walkout information and update as-built documentation after construction completion.
• Create construction build packets with complete design deliverables.
• Develop fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits, assess fiber availability, and determine reinforcement requirements.
• Coordinate design and engineering services with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering while prioritizing multiple projects.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent education and at least five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of GIS applications such as ESRI and Schneider design software.
• Intermediate understanding of cable design and strong familiarity with HFC and fiber symbology.
• Knowledge of telecommunications outside-plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
