Associate Director, AI Enablement (AI)

Location: Primary location in Louisville, Kentucky, with additional locations in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Arlington, Fort Lauderdale, New York, and Tampa, United States

Salary: $142,300–$195,700 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan

What you will do

• Build hirify.global's Agentic Development Lifecycle, an AI-native software delivery platform with multiple workstreams and governance requirements.
• Lead AI enablement across enterprise engineering, supporting adoption of modern Agile, DevOps, cloud, and software delivery practices.
• Review architecture decisions, ADRs, agent designs, code, and system designs, and write technical documentation when needed.
• Prototype agent harnesses, sub-agent definitions, tool and MCP integrations, prompts, and character specifications.
• Evaluate traces and agent performance, debug agent behavior, and contribute to reference implementations for engineering teams.
• Align peer organizations, communicate progress to senior leaders, and lead teams through enterprise-wide technology and process change.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years leading engineering managers, technical leads, or multiple squads.
• Experience owning a multi-track or platform-scale program with at least three parallel workstreams and 25+ engineers.
• Hands-on expertise in at least two areas: distributed systems, platform or SRE engineering, ML/AI engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and at least one of GCP, Azure, or AWS, including Infrastructure as Code and GitOps-based deployment practices.
• Working fluency with LLM application development, including agent frameworks, prompt engineering, RAG, tool or function calling, and evaluation methods.
• Ability to work from one of the listed U.S. locations, with experience shipping software in regulated environments with security and compliance constraints.

Nice to have

• Master's degree.
• Production experience with agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, observability, or drift detection.
• Experience with Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, MCP, or comparable agent tooling.
• Healthcare, payer, or life sciences experience with HIPAA or PHI handling.
• Experience with AI governance frameworks, FinOps, legacy modernization, or enterprise developer-productivity programs.
