Director, Software Development Engineering - Experience Management Platform (AI)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States

Salary: $231,000–$323,500 total cash range, with potential pay up to $369,500 based on sustained performance.

What you will do

• Define and drive the technical strategy for the Experience Management Platform.
• Lead engineers and engineering managers building a modern, agentic, self-serve experience orchestration platform.
• Own architecture, roadmap, and non-functional standards covering performance, cost, and scale across hirify.global brands.
• Modernize legacy services while maintaining business continuity and improving organizational agility.
• Establish domain KPIs, scorecards, reviews, and operational excellence mechanisms tied to measurable business outcomes.
• Develop leaders of leaders and align Product, Design, Machine Learning, and Engineering stakeholders on shared roadmaps and resourcing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years of people management experience.
• Experience leading technical strategy, architecture, and delivery for domain- or organization-scale platforms.
• Strong expertise in distributed systems, software architecture, system design, low-level design, API design, and data modeling.
• Experience leading through engineering managers and senior engineers in large-scale environments.
• Experience with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts in production-oriented software or platform contexts.

Nice to have

• Experience leading platform engineering organizations across multiple products or capability areas.
• Background building configuration-driven platforms such as templating, CMS, or experience orchestration systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic workflows, low-code, no-code, conversational interfaces, server-driven UI, or configuration-driven platforms.
• Track record of retiring legacy systems while maintaining business continuity.
