Senior ML Engineer - Tracking (Autonomous Vehicles)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy production machine-learning models for multi-object tracking, pose and kinematic estimation, and sensor fusion.
• Build scalable training and evaluation workflows with PyTorch, distributed training infrastructure, and large real-world datasets.
• Improve tracking and sensor-fusion algorithms for robust vehicle pose and kinematics estimation.
• Analyze vehicle data, identify failure modes, and drive model, system, verification, and validation improvements.
• Develop efficient production software in modern C++ and Python across the full development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with perception, mapping, planning, controls, and platform teams while providing technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant industry experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle or robotics perception systems, including tracking, detection, SLAM, or scene modeling.
• Experience developing and deploying machine-learning models for perception, localization, or sensor-fusion applications.
• Proficiency with PyTorch and modern tooling for training, inference, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of 3D geometry, probabilistic estimation, coordinate transforms, robotics fundamentals, and large multimodal datasets.
• Strong Python and C++ software engineering skills, including algorithms, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with factor graphs, Kalman filtering, nonlinear optimization, or related state-estimation methods.
• Familiarity with Ray, Kubernetes, or similar distributed-computing tools.
• Knowledge of embedded and real-time vehicle deployment constraints.
• Experience with simulation, synthetic data, uncertainty-aware machine learning, or open-source robotics and ML frameworks.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 and automotive functional-safety development processes.
