Value Engineering Technical Manager (Networking)

Location: Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; hybrid with an average requirement of two days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Lead value-engineering initiatives across manufacturing partner sites and networking product lines.
• Identify design, material, and process opportunities to reduce total product costs while improving manufacturability, quality, and reliability.
• Lead product- and component-level cost-savings projects and workshops across ODM and contract manufacturing partners.
• Develop value-engineering proposals with cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, and risk assessments for supply-chain and engineering leadership.
• Collaborate with R&D, procurement, quality, production engineering, ODMs, and contract manufacturers to implement approved changes.
• Track savings against targets, maintain value-engineering databases and cost models, and mentor value-engineering program managers.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 3+ years in value engineering and manufacturing cost reduction.
• 8+ years of people-management experience, including managing teams across geographies.
• Technical background in networking product design and development, with strong knowledge of ODM/CM manufacturing processes for networking and telecom hardware.
• Strong value-engineering methodology, cost-modeling, supply-chain, procurement, analytical, project-management, and risk-mitigation skills.
• Mastery of English and the local language is required; PMP certification or a higher certification is expected.
