Application Engineer (Medium Voltage)

Location: Hybrid in Austin, Texas, with at least four days per week onsite at the hirify.global Business Center. Travel may include up to 10% domestic travel. Relocation assistance may be authorized.

Expected compensation: $98,964–$120,957 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Lead customer technical discussions to identify electrical requirements, delivery timelines, and application needs.
• Communicate technical details of custom kits and applications through written materials, verbal discussions, and field training.
• Evaluate one-line drawings and cable schedules to select medium-voltage solutions that meet industry requirements.
• Develop bills of materials and coordinate required materials and documentation with manufacturing, customer service, and sales.
• Manage project plans and coordinate cross-functional execution against customer expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher completed before the start date.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physical Sciences, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Two years of combined experience in field engineering, design engineering, estimating, project management, or supervision on large capital projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of medium-voltage cables, splices, terminations, switchgear, transformers, and motors.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, electrical drawings, equipment drawings, and project documentation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with integrated hardware, firmware, software, and communications systems.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office, CAD, and construction drawing file formats.
• Experience working successfully on cross-functional teams.
