What you will do
- Own the design of Lab from discovery and user research through prototyping, visual design, and engineering handoff.
- Design interfaces for exploring data, configuring models, interpreting results, and iterating on experiments.
- Define the product’s information architecture, interaction models, and visual language.
- Make advanced machine learning outputs interpretable and actionable for researchers.
- Collaborate with software engineers, machine learning researchers, chemists, biologists, and product stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing complex, data-rich products or tools for technical or expert users.
- Experience owning end-to-end product design, including research, interaction design, visual design, and engineering handoff.
- Strong interaction design, information architecture, systems thinking, visual design, and prototyping skills.
- Experience with modern design tools such as Figma or equivalent.
- Ability to translate highly technical concepts into clear, intuitive user experiences.
- Clear communication skills and experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience designing products for scientific, engineering, research, biotech, machine learning, data platform, or developer-tool domains.
- Familiarity with machine learning, data science, computational research, data exploration, experimentation, or analysis-heavy workflows.
- Experience at an early-stage startup or owning a substantial part of a product’s design direction.
- Usability testing experience with expert users.
- Interest in or basic understanding of biology, chemistry, or drug discovery.
