Associate/Professor of Educational Leadership

Location: Canyon and/or Amarillo, Texas, United States; weekly in-person, on-campus office hours and engagement are required.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

West Texas A&M University is a member of the Texas A&M University System offering an online Doctor of Education program in Educational Leadership.

What you will do

• Teach doctoral-level courses in the fully online Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program.
• Mentor and advise doctoral students, including supervising empirical research and scholarly deliverables.
• Participate in student progress reviews and qualifying examinations.
• Maintain an active research agenda with ongoing scholarly productivity.
• Contribute to doctoral program development, assessment, continuous improvement, governance, administration, and service.
• Hold weekly in-person office hours and engage on campus in Canyon and/or Amarillo.

Requirements

• Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Educational Leadership or a closely related field.
• At least five years of professional experience in EC–12 or higher education leadership, or related leadership contexts.
• Evidence of teaching, research, and service excellence, including an active research agenda appropriate to rank.
• Experience mentoring doctoral students, particularly in empirical research.
• Strong instructional effectiveness in fully online learning environments.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and throughout employment; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching doctoral-level courses or chairing doctoral research committees.
• Experience in rural educational contexts.
• Experience teaching the ethical use of artificial intelligence in research design, analysis, and scholarly writing.
• Administrative leadership experience in a doctoral program.
• Texas superintendent certification.
