Instructional Assistant Professor of Special Education

What you will do

• Teach 15 semester credit hours, equivalent to five courses, per semester.
• Teach face-to-face and online undergraduate courses and online graduate courses.
• Mentor students and support their academic development.
• Serve on departmental, college, university, and professional committees.
• Contribute to the preparation of culturally competent education professionals.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Special Education or a closely related field; ABD candidates may be considered if the doctorate is completed before the appointment begins.
• Current special education teaching license or certification, or eligibility for one.
• Classroom teaching experience in special education at the Pre K–12 level.
• Ability or documented potential to teach effectively in-person undergraduate and online graduate courses.
• The position requires face-to-face interaction through a regular campus and workplace attendance schedule.

Nice to have

• Documented special education experience in public schools.
• Ability to teach subjects that complement and strengthen existing programs.
• Educational Diagnostician Certification.
