Lecturer of Mathematics

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States; in-person teaching on campus is required. A few courses may be taught online.

What you will do

• Teach mathematics and statistics courses across the curriculum.
• Deliver high-quality instruction at all course levels.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve success rates in entry-level mathematics courses.
• Contribute to department, college, university, and community service according to teaching load.
• Teach a base load of 5/5; summer teaching may be available but is not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics.
• Evidence of potential to improve student success in entry-level mathematics courses.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills.
• Ability to teach in person on the San Antonio campus is required.
• Applicants must address their teaching engagement, student-success experience, and evidence-based potential for university-level teaching excellence in the cover letter.

Nice to have

• Experience teaching mathematics at a level commensurate with a Lecturer appointment.
• Experience teaching advanced high-school topics or serving as a graduate teaching assistant.
• Experience collaborating with faculty on projects focused on students’ academic success.
