Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education

Location: Laredo, Texas; regular attendance on campus and in the workplace required

What you will do

• Teach face-to-face and online undergraduate courses and online graduate courses in special education.
• Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
• Serve on departmental, college, university, and professional committees.
• Contribute to educator preparation, research, community engagement, and public service.

Requirements

• Doctorate in Special Education or a related field; ABD candidates may be considered for Assistant Professor if the degree is completed before appointment.
• Associate Professor candidates must meet the qualifications for rank and tenure.
• Current PreK–12 special education certification or eligibility, plus PreK–12 special education classroom experience.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness or potential in face-to-face undergraduate and online graduate courses.
• Regular attendance on campus and in the workplace in Laredo, Texas is required.

Nice to have

• Documented special education experience in public schools.
• Ability to teach areas that complement and strengthen current programs.
• Educational Diagnostician Certification.
