Engineering Manager, Platform Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Minimal travel of up to 5% may be required for workshops or team events.

What you will do

• Lead one or more software engineering teams within the Platform Pod, owning delivery commitments, team health, quality, and output.
• Partner with product management and architecture on roadmap planning, sprint commitments, capacity, priorities, and delivery risks.
• Coach engineers, conduct 1-on-1s and performance evaluations, manage underperformance, and support technical and leadership growth.
• Hire, onboard, and develop engineers, including senior and Principal-level developers.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and proof-of-concept work while identifying technical risks and tradeoffs.
• Drive meaningful adoption of AI-assisted development and agentic coding tools across engineering teams.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related engineering experience, including experience managing engineers, plus a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience managing a software engineering team of approximately 8–15 reports, including senior engineers.
• Player-coach profile with strong technical judgment and the ability to contribute to code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Strong delivery experience in an agile environment using Scrum, Kanban, or a hybrid approach.
• Experience coaching engineers, managing performance, hiring, onboarding, and developing careers.
• Technical fluency across modern web and .NET technologies, architecture and technical risk, Azure cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps or similar tools.

• Experience leading modernization, migration, or platform initiatives.
• Experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, and Azure.
• HCM, payroll, or enterprise SaaS domain experience.
• Experience with capacity planning, roadmap shaping, or scaling teams during rapid hiring.
