Senior Software Engineer - UI Platform

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work

Annual base salary: $136,000–$187,000 CAD

What you will do

• Define and own the architectural vision and technical roadmap for major UI platform subsystems.
• Build frameworks, shared libraries, reusable components, tools, and design patterns for feature teams.
• Review high-impact designs and cross-team interface specifications to ensure maintainability and technical integrity.
• Drive alignment across product teams and translate product strategy into actionable technical architecture.
• Mentor Senior Engineers, share knowledge, and establish engineering best practices.
• Implement complex foundational platform components and ensure their technical quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, implementation, scalable systems, and maintainable engineering practices.
• Development experience with Java, Python, or C++.
• Significant experience with Spring, React, or Node.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience defining internationalization and localization strategies for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Specialized knowledge of Unicode, ISO standards, and localization frameworks.
• Experience with globalization testing processes.
• Experience on a platform team that treats developers as customers.
