Senior Software Developer (React)

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada; hybrid work mode

What you will do

• Design and architect complex, performant, reliable, scalable, and maintainable frontend applications, components, and modules.
• Build customer-facing React interfaces for Driver, a cloud-based geoscience auto-modelling application.
• Integrate a 3D visualisation library to present complex geoscience data through interactive and responsive experiences.
• Design, implement, test, document, integrate, and refactor complex software while addressing security and other functional and non-functional requirements.
• Lead design and code reviews, mentor junior developers, and strengthen technical capability across the team.
• Coordinate releases and deliver small projects or sub-projects in collaboration with product designers, domain experts, backend developers, and other disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 7+ years of relevant software development experience, primarily in frontend web development.
• Extensive experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and React.
• Experience developing, operating, and maintaining customer-facing web applications in production, including troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance optimisation.
• Experience with Three.js or another web-based 3D rendering library.
• Ability to work autonomously, handle complex or ambiguous requirements, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex ideas.

Nice to have

• Experience with web-based data science pipelines, Python, FastAPI or similar frameworks, CI/CD and DevOps practices, or micro-frontend migrations.
