Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: Remote in Canada (Ontario)

Salary: $102,000–$117,500 CAD per year

hirify.global provides vertical software and embedded payments technology for small and medium-sized businesses. Commerce7, part of hirify.global, develops tools and insights that help wineries deliver customer experiences through ecommerce, point of sale, reservation, and CRM products.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and scale customer-facing applications across the Commerce7 platform, including ecommerce, point of sale, reservation, and CRM tools.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate system APIs and with QA to deliver production-ready features.
• Improve, refactor, and maintain user interfaces with a focus on usability, responsiveness, and customer-focused UX.
• Apply modern coding practices and internal conventions, and participate in code reviews focused on quality, maintainability, performance, and scalability.
• Document frontend workflows, component libraries, and UX patterns to support cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience developing large-scale frontend applications, with a solid understanding of frontend architecture and state management.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver frontend features on schedule.
• Proficiency in JavaScript ES6+ and React, with experience using Webpack, Babel, NPM, or similar build tools.
• Strong proficiency in HTML and CSS, preferably with Styled Components or component-based styling.
• Experience integrating with REST APIs.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with testing frameworks, including automated integration and unit testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective collaboration with engineering, product, and QA teams, and understanding of fundamental web UX principles.
• Commitment to code quality, high QA standards, continuous learning, and understanding user needs.

Nice to have

• Experience with ecommerce or point of sale platforms.
