2027 Summer Intern Medicinal Chemistry

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; onsite, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Must be able to relocate to the office location. The program is for US and Puerto Rico residents, and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Synthesize small-molecule targets and intermediates for drug discovery programs using reaction and reagent databases.
• Purify and characterize compounds using suitable laboratory and analytical techniques.
• Develop and apply structural characterization methods, including NMR and LCMS.
• Register compounds in corporate databases and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks with detailed experimental procedures.
• Use internal databases and tools to understand structure–activity relationships and collaborate on compound design.
• Follow HSE guidelines and company compliance requirements while communicating professionally with colleagues.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
• Completed coursework in organic chemistry and laboratory work.
• Permanent US work authorization without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Must remain enrolled throughout the internship and be available onsite in Cambridge for the full 10–12-week duration.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• Experience with synthetic organic chemistry and purification techniques such as silica gel chromatography.
• Experience using NMR and LCMS to interpret analytical data and characterize novel compounds.
