What you will do

• Devise strategies to identify lead molecules and optimize potency, selectivity, ADME, and PK properties using SAR analysis and hypothesis-driven design.
• Apply modern organic chemistry transformations, synthetic methods, parallel experimentation, and innovative techniques.
• Collaborate with molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, computational chemistry, ADME, and other R&D functions.
• Influence the use of computational methods and leverage automated synthesis and high-throughput experimentation.
• Work with AI/ML teams to develop predictive models supporting the design of new molecules.
• Communicate project updates and contribute to scientific excellence, innovation, and teamwork.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry.
• 15+ years of experience with a BS, 12+ years with an MS, or 8+ years with a PhD in small-molecule drug discovery within biotechnology or pharmaceutical settings.
• Proven success advancing programs from lead compounds to advanced candidates.
• Expertise in lead optimization, modern synthetic organic chemistry, and drug-discovery approaches demonstrated through publications and patents.
• Practical experience with target protein degradation modalities, including molecular glues and PROTACs.
• Experience working with computational chemists, integrating multiple R&D disciplines, and leading stakeholder relationships.
