IT Consultant - Automation and Effciency Lead

What you will do

• Advise healthcare, operational, and technical stakeholders on workflow optimization and automation opportunities.
• Assess clinical and business workflows, identify bottlenecks and manual effort, and define future-state processes.
• Evaluate and implement solutions using AI, RPA, APIs, scripting, low-code/no-code platforms, and workflow orchestration tools.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, integration, analytics, cybersecurity, and support teams to design scalable solutions.
• Lead automation initiatives from concept through implementation, including prototypes, pilots, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
• Measure time savings, efficiency gains, risk reduction, user satisfaction, and post-implementation value realization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, healthcare informatics, business administration, or a related field.
• At least seven years of progressive IT experience, including five years in healthcare IT, process improvement, automation, systems integration, or technology consulting.
• Experience improving business, operational, or clinical workflows and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of workflow analysis, process improvement, technical architecture, consulting, relationship management, and analytical problem-solving.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, create process maps and solution designs, and communicate technical concepts to business and executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or certifications such as Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, Agile, Epic, automation, AI, cloud, or data analytics certifications.
• Experience in a large health system and with Epic or related healthcare technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Azure AI, Automation Anywhere, UiPath, APIs, data integrations, workflow orchestration, or enterprise applications.
• Experience developing dashboards and operational analytics.
