Senior / Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston office, onsite 5 days per week; applicants must be eligible to work in the US

Salary: $228,960–$363,510 base salary annually

What you will do

• Own direction and architecture for the AI Operations Engineering team.
• Build agents, workflows, and custom tools that help non-engineering teams scale their operations.
• Evaluate third-party tools and decide when to buy, build, or integrate them.
• Contribute to and improve the self-service application deployment platform.
• Design internal API, authentication, and MCP patterns beyond the Django monolith.
• Integrate and scale customer experience systems such as Zendesk while partnering with legal, finance, people, content operations, and customer experience teams.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building, maintaining, and supporting internal tools or systems that streamline engineering or business operations.
• Interest in learning and sharing agentic coding practices and tools.
• Ability to work effectively in an early-stage 0→1 environment where the problem space is still being defined.
• Eligibility to work in the US.
• Availability to work from the designated Boston office 5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph and evaluation or observability tools such as LangSmith or Braintrust.
• Familiarity with support tools, CRM systems, or workflow automation platforms.
