Software Test Engineer

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; onsite. U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans, cases, procedures, and schedules.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, negative, usability, performance, and reliability testing.
• Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management and test management tools.
• Collaborate with software development teams to troubleshoot issues, analyze root causes, and validate fixes.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous improvement of QA methodologies.
• Participate in design reviews and document test procedures and results for repeatability, compliance, and quality.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• At least 3 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or software engineering.
• Experience creating and executing manual and automated test plans.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum environments, SDLC methodologies, defect tracking, and test management tools.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services and AWS Certified Machine Learning Certification.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, database testing, and validation techniques.
