Senior Business Analyst (Banking & Financial Services)

What you will do

• Lead requirements discovery through stakeholder interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs, and analysis sessions.
• Document current- and future-state processes, identify gaps, and recommend simplification, automation, and operational improvements.
• Translate business needs into business, functional, and non-functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, process flows, data mappings, and traceability matrices.
• Partner with architects, developers, QA engineers, Product Owners, and Project Managers throughout the SDLC.
• Support Agile and Waterfall delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, change management, UAT, defect analysis, and production readiness.
• Analyze interfaces, integrations, data flows, dependencies, risks, and controls across banking solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of Business Analysis or Business Systems Analysis experience, including at least 3 years in banking, financial services, payments, lending, credit unions, or fintech.
• Strong experience with requirements elicitation, process and gap analysis, BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, data mappings, and traceability documentation.
• Experience with SDLC delivery in Agile/Scrum and Waterfall environments, including testing, UAT, implementation, and change management.
• Working knowledge of APIs, web services, integrations, interfaces, data flows, databases, and data mapping.
• Experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, or comparable platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital banking, deposits, lending, payments, treasury management, commercial banking, or core banking platforms.
• Experience supporting banking modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
• Exposure to cloud applications, complex enterprise integrations, and data-intensive applications.
• Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, audit, security, and risk considerations in financial services.
• Consulting experience with client stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams.
