Solutions & Innovations Consultant (Mainframe with Ansible)

Software consulting services supporting client projects, platform transformation, automation strategies, and cloud technology initiatives.

What you will do

• Consult with clients on automation strategies, application development, and platform modernization projects.
• Diagnose and resolve compile, assembly, and link-edit issues for z/OS.
• Develop and support mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Java, and EZT.
• Work with IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings, including zLinux, zCX, Db2, and IDAA.
• Use DevOps and DevSecOps practices, continuous delivery, microservices, and collaborative product-focused development.
• Apply Ansible Automation Platform, IBM UrbanCode Deploy, source control systems, and mainframe development IDEs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing environments with strong presentation skills.
• Experience with IBM CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Liberty, and z/OS Connect.
• Knowledge of z/OS source control platforms such as Panvalet, Endevor, and SCLM, plus Git-based source control.
• Experience with IBM Dependency Based Build, Groovy or YAML, the z/OS USS environment, and mainframe development IDEs.
• Knowledge of Ansible Automation Platform, IBM UrbanCode Deploy, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies.
• BA, BS, or equivalent qualification required; ability to travel and perform prolonged computer-based work required.

Nice to have

• IBM Certified Specialist – IBM zSeries Technical Version 1 or related industry certifications.
• Experience with additional open-source tools and programming languages.
