People Operations Lead (Fintech)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid working with regular office attendance required on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from January 2027; some teams may attend more often.

What you will do

• Own day-to-day People Operations for the UK employee population across joiners, leavers, changes, probation, right-to-work, screening, leave, and absence.
• Maintain compliance with UK employment law and statutory requirements, keep records audit-ready, and partner with Legal on regulatory changes.
• Own the UK employee handbook and policy framework, including drafting, updating, and rolling out policies.
• Lead strategic People Ops projects such as benefits redesign, payroll consolidation, and relocation strategy.
• Design workflows, templates, and automations that reduce manual work across the employee lifecycle.
• Handle complex UK people cases, build operational dashboards, partner with Workplace, and support budget planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR Operations within a scaling company.
• Deep working knowledge of UK employment law and compliance.
• Experience designing and rolling out practical employee policies and handbooks.
• Track record of leading People Ops projects end-to-end, from scoping through measurement.
• Experience designing workflows and automations, with exceptional attention to detail and strong judgment in complex cases.
• Ability to brief senior stakeholders and represent People Operations in cross-functional forums.

Nice to have

• Experience in a scaling fintech, capital markets business, or high-growth B2B SaaS company.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO People-related controls, and audit preparation.
• Experience building automations across HR technology stacks, including HRIS platforms.
