Employment Specialist (Connect to Work)

Location: Based in Oxford or Didcot, United Kingdom, with travel across the local area throughout the week. This is a community-based role with occasional evening and weekend activities.

Salary: £27,976–£31,000 per year, depending on experience. Travel expenses beyond travel to the base location will be reimbursed.

What you will do

• Support customers with disabilities, health conditions, or other complex challenges to find and sustain employment.
• Create and follow individualised action plans, conduct regular progress check-ins, and provide ongoing in-work support.
• Build relationships with employers and promote customers as valuable, inclusive candidates.
• Develop employment opportunities and arrange work experiences, placements, trials, and shadowing opportunities.
• Provide guidance on recruitment, benefits, housing, disabilities, and other specialist local support services.
• Maintain accurate customer records and meet performance, quality, safeguarding, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Passion for working with people and a solution-focused approach.
• Experience supporting people facing barriers to employment, including health conditions and disabilities.
• Experience providing one-to-one support and coaching, with the ability to constructively challenge when needed.
• Experience developing networks and strong partnerships to support customer goals.
• Strong organisation and caseload management skills, with knowledge of safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality.
• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required before starting employment.

Nice to have

• Driving licence and access to a car for community delivery.
• Experience helping individuals progress into work.
• Understanding of supported employment programmes, including IPS.
• Degree or a proven track record in target-driven sales, customer service, or case management.
• Knowledge of the local employment market, welfare and benefits, and mental and physical health challenges.
