TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer, Fixed Term – Toronto (Airflow/dbt, SQL/Python): Designing and deploying scalable data pipelines and models that transform raw information into actionable marketing insights with an accent on orchestration, cloud performance, cost efficiency, and data security. Focus on optimizing production-grade workflows, collaborating with Data Scientists and Analysts on data readiness, and mentoring engineers through code reviews.

Location: Ontario, Canada; preferably Toronto

Salary: $65 hourly

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and deploy production-grade data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt.
  • Optimize data models for performance and cost efficiency in cloud environments.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor Core Engineers.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to prepare data for advanced modeling.
  • Implement data security and privacy practices aligned with global standards.

Requirements

  • Professional experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Deep proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of data modeling techniques such as Star Schema or Data Vault.
  • Ability to work quickly and adapt to the evolving needs of global brands.
  • Must be located in Ontario, Canada, preferably Toronto.
