Buyer (Manufacturing)

hirify.global operates an upholstery manufacturing business producing furniture and related components.

What you will do

• Plan and purchase fabric, leather, trims, and component kits based on forecasts, inventory, production schedules, and supplier lead times.
• Create and manage purchase orders for plant operations and maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Coordinate with suppliers on order status, shipments, delivery commitments, and performance.
• Monitor inventory health, shortages, oversold positions, replenishment needs, and open orders.
• Identify supply risks and coordinate recovery actions to protect production schedules and customer commitments.
• Prepare bills of lading, order repair components, maintain office supply inventory, and support purchasing, inventory control, scheduling, and production teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field is preferred.
• At least two years of experience in purchasing, planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required.
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, wear required personal protective equipment, and lift, push, or pull up to 15 pounds.

Nice to have

• Three or more years of experience purchasing from international suppliers and coordinating imported materials.
• Experience with supplier management, forecasting, inventory planning, overseas logistics, manufacturing, or the furniture industry.

Culture & Benefits

• Full-time, hourly, non-exempt employment.
• Monday-Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; overtime may be required based on business needs.
• Work takes place primarily in a heated and cooled office within a manufacturing facility, with regular interaction across operational teams.
• Safety policies require protective equipment including safety glasses and closed-toe, closed-heel footwear when applicable.
