Software Engineer — Test Automation & HIL Integration

hirify.global.com is hiring for a contracted software engineering role focused on test automation and HIL integration.

What you will do

• Develop interface and driver software connecting OPAL-RT targets, DUT firmware, and host PCs through TCP/UDP, EtherCAT, CAN, serial, and shared-memory protocols.
• Build Python and C++ test automation frameworks for executing test sequences, capturing signals, and generating reports.
• Create data-logging, visualization, and results-analysis tools for bench runs.
• Integrate test execution into Bamboo, Jenkins, and GitLab CI pipelines.
• Support bench bring-up with the US lead and resolve integration defects quickly.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, static analysis, and unit testing.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of software development experience with C/C++ and Python in embedded or test-system environments.
• Experience with real-time or hardware-interfacing software.
• Linux and Windows development experience, Git, CI/CD, and disciplined unit testing.
• Ability to read interface control documents and work with defined protocols.
• Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
• On-site work in San Diego, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with HIL platforms, especially the OPAL-RT API or RT-LAB Python API.
• LabVIEW or NI TestStand.
• Robot Framework, Docker, or MATLAB integration.
• Prior semiconductor or automotive HIL project experience.
