NVM Circuit Design Engineer (Non-Volatile Memory)

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Hybrid position requiring at least 2 days per week in the office; candidates must live within commuting distance or be willing to relocate to the UK before employment.

What you will do

• Architect and design embedded non-volatile memory solutions, including pre-decoders, drivers, and support circuitry.
• Define low-power operating modes and power domains while balancing power, performance, and area.
• Lead internal NVM design reviews and drive quality, robustness, and technical excellence.
• Partner with test, validation, design, technology, and marketing teams on NVM validation and silicon characterization.
• Analyze and optimize NVM performance across process nodes and coordinate integration requirements with PDK teams.
• Integrate and validate hard IP, memory views, and models within system-level designs and simulations.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with hands-on NVM design experience.
• Strong proficiency with Cadence tools for schematic capture, simulation, and layout.
• Experience developing new IP and patented technologies.
• Deep knowledge of design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test methodologies for NVM.
• Experience collaborating with external foundries across development cycles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts.

Nice to have

• Experience with emerging NVM technologies such as MRAM and RRAM.
• Familiarity with SRAM design.
• Hands-on experience with NVM test chip design, bring-up, and silicon characterization.
