Software Engineer (Embedded), I

What you will do

• Write and test software integrating sensors and embedded processors into aircraft, payloads, software-defined radios, and robotic systems.
• Design and implement prototype and production software while maintaining configuration control.
• Support system requirements, test plans, diagnostic tools, validation testing, and hardware resource recommendations.
• Develop rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrations within project timelines and budgets.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and support transitions to production and certification.
• Participate in design reviews, flight tests, field testing, and software debugging under general supervision.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C, C++11, C++ STL, and/or OpenCL, with systems troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of Visual Studio, Eclipse, or similar IDEs and defect-tracking tools.
• Experience with RS-485, RS-232, CAN, I2C, SPI, and USB protocols.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be eligible for an export license; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship. Periodic travel and irregular hours may be required for equipment and flight testing.

Nice to have

• Experience with STM32 processors and RTOS platforms such as µC/OS or FreeRTOS.
• Experience with Video4Linux, Ubuntu Linux kernel modification, Linux/ARM drivers, or ROS.
• Basic electronics knowledge and laboratory equipment experience.
