Environmental EHS Manager

Location: Mapleton, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and direct hourly, salaried, and management personnel involved in EHS activities at a medium to large facility.
• Strengthen environmental compliance with company standards, government regulations, and applicable legal requirements.
• Identify safety, health, and environmental hazards and establish guidelines to protect employees and the environment.
• Audit safety, health, and environmental programs for compliance and adequacy under local conditions.
• Monitor performance reports, identify trends, alert line management to problems, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure required EHS training is completed and support responsible, sustainable facility operations.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of EHS policy compliance and the ability to implement policies that meet legal requirements and standards.
• Extensive knowledge of risk assessment, risk control processes, tools, and techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of collaborative techniques and the ability to work constructively with varied individuals and groups.
• Extensive knowledge of problem-solving approaches for organizational, operational, and process issues.
• Basic knowledge of sustainability strategy and its integration into business strategy.
• Experience in air compliance, emission control equipment, and air permitting.
• Experience with drinking water, wastewater, and hazardous waste regulations.
• Travel is expected to be less than 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience in a foundry, oil and gas, or paper mill environment.
