Operations Manager (Waste Management)

Location: Avon Lake, Ohio, United States; onsite at the Chemtron2 material processing facility.

Salary: $91,200–$121,400 USD per annum.

What you will do

• Manage localized operations including wastewater treatment, solid waste processing, shredding, receiving, shipping, and laboratory discharge compliance.
• Lead, train, coordinate, and direct plant employees while setting standards for quality, performance, appearance, and effectiveness.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs and keep the facility audit-ready.
• Coordinate with other locations, sales, operations, clients, local authorities, and regulatory agencies.
• Analyze budgets, sales, activity reports, and performance data to improve productivity, reduce costs, and achieve operational goals.
• Manage employee performance, mentor staff, and develop feasible facility growth opportunities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience supervising and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to analyze information and suggest improvements.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Background in wastewater treatment, laboratory analysis, or regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of hazardous, non-hazardous, universal waste, and solid waste transfer facilities.
• Bachelor's degree.
