Maintenance Technician I

Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas, United States; on-site five days per week. Second-shift schedule.

Salary: $26.25–$31.03 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair machinery, tools, auxiliary equipment, and building systems across multiple production lines.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to scheduled requirements and support equipment uptime.
• Repair and install equipment and controls while coordinating with outside service representatives.
• Build specialized tools, carts, and equipment for facilities and operations needs.
• Prepare bills of material, initiate purchase requisitions, and prioritize urgent maintenance work.
• Operate hoists, lifts, forklifts, carts, and hand trucks, and apply plant lockout/tagout procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience with a broad range of mechanical equipment and strong mechanical skills.
• Basic electrical skills and the ability to understand schematics and blueprints.
• Basic computer skills, critical thinking, teamwork, self-motivation, and adherence to standard work.
• Three or more years of maintenance experience preferred but not required.

Nice to have

• Degree in Maintenance Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• Competency across multiple maintenance trades.
