Software Engineer 2 - Development Infrastructure

Location: Remote - USA

Base salary: $149,200–$214,500 USD per year, plus potential bonus or incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of complex, multi-component Development Infrastructure features and systems, and shape the area roadmap.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD infrastructure and engineering tools that make software delivery more reliable and efficient.
• Design and improve GitHub Actions infrastructure, base Docker images, and build and deployment pipelines for scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Use Generative AI tools to evaluate solutions and adapt generated changes to production constraints and long-term maintainability requirements.
• Own on-call issues, investigate unclear root causes, and resolve systemic reliability gaps.
• Participate in planning, code reviews, standups, and the software development lifecycle while coaching other engineers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience building backend systems and/or platforms.
• 2+ years of professional Python experience.
• Experience delivering complex projects end-to-end in a cloud-native environment.
• Experience operating production CI/CD, build, or deployment systems, including on-call and incident response.
• Understanding of distributed systems, containerization, and microservices.
• Practical experience using Generative AI tools in daily engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitHub Actions, Go, or Bazel.
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD systems.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Experience in Engineering Effectiveness, Engineering Productivity, Development Experience, or Development Infrastructure teams.
• Familiarity with tools such as Codex and Claude and experience driving AI-first workflows.
