Software Engineer, Infrastructure AI

Location: Hybrid role based in Seattle, WA

What you will do

• Build autonomous AI agents on the Quartermaster platform for SRE, DevOps, and DBA workflows.
• Automate incident investigation and remediation, infrastructure provisioning, deployments, database operations, and capacity management.
• Design safe and reliable agent loops covering planning, reasoning, tool execution, error recovery, and human escalation.
• Integrate agents with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, GCP, Aliyun, databases, monitoring systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Define evaluation metrics and frameworks for task completion, accuracy, resolution time, and escalation rates.
• Partner with SRE, DevOps, and platform engineering teams to identify and automate high-value operational workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development skills in Python, Go, Java, or Kotlin.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD systems.
• Strong system design skills for reliable, safe, and scalable systems interacting with production infrastructure.
• Experience building agentic AI systems that autonomously plan, reason, and execute multi-step tasks using LLMs.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional, global environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, custom agent frameworks, or LLM APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or the ELK stack.
• Database administration or automation experience, including migrations, query optimization, and backup/recovery.
• Knowledge of SRE practices such as incident response, runbooks, postmortems, SLOs, and SLIs.
• Opinions on agent reliability, safety, evaluation, and increasing infrastructure autonomy.
