Senior Software Engineer - Mobile Backend (Crypto)

Location: Full-time onsite at the Toronto office, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 180,000–220,000 annual base salary, plus equity, annual performance bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable APIs, libraries, and services for an API-first platform.
• Own functionality and scalability features from inception through deployment and customer integration.
• Expose and document functionality for user interfaces, third-party developers, and internal and external tooling.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to define and ship features.
• Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Contribute to code reviews, engineering best practices, and mentorship across the broader engineering team.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend and server-side development experience.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and RESTful API design.
• Experience with microservices, service-oriented architectures, unit and functional testing, debugging, Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, and CI tools.
• Strong algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline.
• Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

Nice to have

• Experience developing consumer-facing crypto products and public-facing production APIs.
• Ability to work full-stack and familiarity with React.
• Experience working with clients or business partners.
• Familiarity with digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, or accounting systems.
