Senior Software Engineer (Customer Platform)

Location: Remote from the United States, Canada, or UK

Base salary: $157,000–$184,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs for notification, authentication, and shared platform capabilities.
• Own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through rollout and iteration.
• Partner with Product Management and the Experience team to deliver features across multiple product lines.
• Create technical design documents and drive design plans with clear trade-offs.
• Contribute to a product-driven roadmap and ship iteratively against defined outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production services and APIs in a modern cloud environment.
• Proficiency with Go or the ability to ramp up quickly; the platform is written in Go.
• Experience designing and evolving public APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, authentication, and usability.
• Familiarity with microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures, including observability and production resilience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across Product, Design, and Engineering.
• Experience working independently in a fast-paced remote startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building platform or shared services across multiple products or customer experiences.
• Experience in cloud-native, container, security, or broader CNCF ecosystems.
• Meaningful open source contributions as a maintainer or regular contributor.
