Senior Software Engineer, Web3 Backend

Location: Toronto, Canada; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay range: $166,000–$195,000 CAD per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect, build, test, release, and operate scalable backend services, infrastructure, and data systems.
• Develop systems supporting crypto trading, tokenized assets, wallets, DeFi protocols, and Robinhood Chain.
• Make engineering tradeoffs focused on stability, maintainability, performance, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with multifunctional and engineering teams on large-scope technical projects.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership for complex initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced environment.
• 3+ years of experience building low-latency, large-scale distributed systems for crypto domains.
• Proficiency in Go or Python, with strong problem-solving and production-debugging skills.
• Experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems across the full software lifecycle.
• Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
• Ability to work from the Toronto office at least 3 days per week.
