Field Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York City or San Francisco, United States

On-target earnings: $200K–$240K, plus equity and commission.

What you will do

• Own the technical win for critical enterprise opportunities in partnership with Account Executives, Solutions Engineers, and Agent Product Managers.
• Design and deliver custom integrations with enterprise telephony and CCaaS platforms from prototype through production deployment.
• Configure and optimize enterprise AI agents using Agent Operating Procedures and production conversation data.
• Instrument metrics to measure agent improvement and diagnose live issues across telephony, voice flows, tool calls, and third-party integrations.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and explain how AI can create value within their technology stacks.
• Enable customers to extract more value from the Decagon platform.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience owning ambiguous, highly technical projects.
• Production-grade coding experience in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
• Experience building integrations with third-party APIs and enterprise systems.
• Ability to work from unfamiliar technical documentation and quickly deliver functional implementations.
• Ability to communicate with customer engineering teams and translate technical findings into implementation plans.
• Comfort working through ambiguity and collaborating cross-functionally.
