Staff Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in downtown Orlando, Florida, with three days per week in the office

Builds an AI operating system for pharmacy that streamlines prior authorizations, care coordination, and patient communication for enterprise health systems across the United States.

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of core products, including prior authorization pipelines, Epic integrations, and AI agents for patient calls and texts.
• Design and build production agentic systems for regulated healthcare workflows.
• Develop automated workflows, LLM-assisted quality assurance, RAG features, function calling, and evaluation systems.
• Make architectural decisions across Epic integration, prior authorization, and patient communication infrastructure.
• Write production code, establish engineering standards, and provide examples through high-quality pull requests.
• Coordinate workstreams, cross-team dependencies, and product roadmaps while ensuring software solves user problems.

Requirements

• Track record of building complex systems from scratch and explaining the technical decisions behind them.
• High agency and ability to define and execute work without perfectly scoped tickets.
• Comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-changing environment.
• Daily use of AI development tools and interest in advancing AI-native engineering practices.
• Ability to work from the Orlando office three days per week.
