Director of People Operations and Total Rewards

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days onsite each week (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in Santa Clara, California

What you will do

• Set and execute the People Operations roadmap across onboarding, offboarding, employee records, leaves, accommodations, policies, and employee changes.
• Partner with Finance on payroll, workforce data, budgeting, reconciliations, and operational controls.
• Improve HR systems, integrations, workflows, documentation, and data quality using AI and automation while protecting sensitive information.
• Develop compensation and benefits strategy, including benchmarking, job architecture, leveling, salary ranges, pay equity, review cycles, renewals, and enrollment.
• Advise leaders on offers, promotions, incentives, retention, and compensation communications using market data and decision frameworks.
• Coordinate immigration matters, maintain compliance and audit readiness, manage vendors, and build reporting on workforce trends, costs, and operational performance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience across People Operations, total rewards, or related HR disciplines.
• Direct ownership of compensation programs, benefits renewals, broker relationships, program costs, and enrollment.
• Strong knowledge of HR systems, payroll processes, integrations, reporting, data quality, and controls.
• Experience managing employment compliance and sensitive operational issues, with strong knowledge of California and federal requirements.
• Financial and analytical confidence, including cost modeling, market data evaluation, and clear recommendations.
• Experience in a B2B SaaS or technology company, supporting a primarily California-based workforce and coordinating immigration matters with external counsel.

Nice to have

• Experience with BambooHR, ADP Workforce Now, Lattice, Pave, Radford, or comparable platforms.
• Relevant HR, compensation, or benefits certifications.
