Director, VSP Payment Orchestration (Crypto/Stablecoin)

Location: US - San Francisco, CA. Hybrid position with office attendance expectations confirmed by the hiring manager; travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $203,800–$326,100 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Set the vision, product strategy, multi-year roadmap, investment priorities, and business outcomes for the VSP Payment Orchestration portfolio.
• Lead market, client, and ecosystem discovery across payments, stablecoins, liquidity, custody, blockchain infrastructure, and exchange partnerships.
• Guide platform evolution with engineering and architecture leaders, including API contracts, routing, sequencing, retries, reconciliation, resiliency, observability, security, and settlement.
• Manage portfolio governance, executive reporting, dependencies, risks, capacity decisions, release planning, launch readiness, and post-launch performance.
• Partner with legal, compliance, treasury, risk, operations, finance, sales, and regional teams to launch regulated products across multiple markets.
• Build product talent, establish responsible AI-use standards, and lead commercialization from pilots to a scalable global proposition.

Requirements

• 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
• Experience setting strategy and leading complex platforms or portfolios through investment approval, delivery, commercialization, and scaled operations.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems, cross-border payments, liquidity, authorization, clearing, settlement, treasury operations, reconciliation, economics, and risk controls.
• Technical fluency with RESTful APIs and payment orchestration concepts, including authentication, webhooks, error handling, routing, retries, resiliency, observability, and settlement.
• Significant knowledge of cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, permissionless blockchains, wallets, custody models, and regulated digital-asset infrastructure.
• Ability to lead global teams across time zones, communicate with executive and regulatory audiences, and travel as needed.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent advanced-degree experience.
• Experience with crypto exchanges, liquidity providers, custodians, on/off-ramp providers, or blockchain networks.
• Familiarity with Jira Align, Jira, Agile planning, process mapping, Postman, and enterprise release management.
• Hands-on experience applying AI tools to research, requirements, documentation, backlog management, testing, and technical analysis.
