System Administrator

Location: Blue Ops, Valdosta, Georgia, United States; onsite facility-based work

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, provision, configure, and update Windows and Linux systems, business platforms, and infrastructure components.
• Manage user lifecycles, groups, permissions, shared resources, and access requests across Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, LDAP, or equivalent platforms.
• Review alerts, logs, and tickets; troubleshoot system, access, performance, availability, and connectivity incidents; restore service and escalate higher-risk issues.
• Execute and verify backups, investigate failures, support restore testing, and follow documented recovery procedures.
• Apply operating system and application patches, support baseline hardening, remediate routine findings, and follow change-control practices.
• Maintain runbooks, inventories, knowledge-base articles, and incident documentation while contributing to small operational improvements and basic automation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or a blended IT support/sysadmin role.
• Hands-on administration of Windows Server and/or Linux systems in a business environment.
• Experience with identity and access management using Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, LDAP, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and general switch, router, and firewall concepts.
• Experience with troubleshooting, patching, monitoring, backups, endpoint management, ticketing, and technical documentation.
• Associate’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. U.S. citizenship or permanent residence is required for ITAR/EAR-restricted work, and sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP, virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V, and monitoring or RMM tools.
• Basic scripting or automation with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Familiarity with backup platforms such as Veeam and relevant certifications.
