Senior Staff Power Electronics Engineer (EV Charging)

Location: Campbell, California, United States

Base salary: $204,347–$270,250 per year, plus eligible RSU grants.

What you will do

• Architect and design high-power AC and DC systems for consumer and commercial EV chargers.
• Develop AC/DC and DC/DC converters, including soft-switching 40–100 kW and multi-level systems up to 2000 VDC.
• Design 100–200 kW four-quadrant grid-tie inverters for EU and North American grid-interactive applications.
• Own product design activities including component selection, schematics, PCB layout, embedded code, magnetics, thermal design, compliance, and DFM.
• Model power designs using PLECS, MATLAB, and SPICE, and apply LLC, phase-shifted full-bridge, flyback, forward, PFC, ZVS, and ZCS topologies.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, lab, test, and validation teams to resolve architectural and production issues and ensure long-term product reliability.

Requirements

• M.S. in electrical, computer, or electronics engineering required; PhD preferred.
• 12–15 years of experience bringing power electronics products to market.
• Strong electrical and electronic design skills with experience in system-level engineering trade-offs.
• Experience designing AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems.
• Ability to drive solutions across software, mechanical, power, and thermal engineering boundaries.
• Knowledge of consumer and industrial product standards; some travel is expected.
