Senior Embedded Hardware Design Engineer (Power Electronics)

Base salary: $118,800–$163,350 per year

What you will do

• Design advanced digital and power hardware within interdisciplinary teams.
• Develop control architectures and integrate DSP, PLD, and FPGA technologies.
• Lead feasibility studies, design testing, qualification testing, and production launches.
• Perform failure analysis and engineering evaluations to drive design improvements.
• Maintain drawings, specifications, design reports, test reports, operating manuals, and test procedures.
• Lead customer engagement to define product specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Requirements

• University degree, such as a bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience with circuit board design, including schematics, layout, component selection, and design for manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with DSP, CPLD, and/or FPGA programming using VHDL, Verilog, embedded C, or equivalent.
• Strong background in power electronics, power conversion topologies, and digital and analog circuit design.
• Ability to use simulation tools, interpret test data, troubleshoot complex systems, and manage multiple competing tasks.
• Must be eligible to obtain authorization under ITAR and/or EAR; non-US persons may not be eligible.

Nice to have

• Experience with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Hardware in the Loop testbeds, PWM, PLL, and PID control methodologies.
• Experience with IGBT devices and gating control.
• Background in defense, aerospace, or ruggedized industrial power systems.
• Familiarity with UL, CSA, IEEE, CE, and MIL-spec requirements.
